My dad phoned me a few days ago to tell me about a programme on grafts under the NHS in Wales. The most usual time there is two years!! Eekk, and that took someone a LOT of phoning and begging, so maybe i'm right at the bottom of the list!
But you know, by the time i return home in a few years, i may need the other eye doing and so will make it just in time!!!!!!

Time waiting for donor cornea
Hi all,
I had to wait only a six weeks - mostly because we had to find a date in the surgeon's diary, and a space in theatre. I understand that the donor corneas can be kept for six weeks, but because tissue matching is not an issue the stock can be used for almost anyone.
I had mine several years ago and only really suffer a bit of photophobia now. I rarely think of it - hence I am only an occasional visitor to this site.

Mr DeCock it is for me as well he seems to know what he is doing.
Six months seems reasonable - I just don't know now whether the six months has started for me yet due to the paperwork foulup. (It's OK I am calm now folks - Friday was a bad day).
Oh well.

Thanks Sweet, It's not difficult to work out where you got your name from.
I'm just off to bed as I have an appointment tomorrow morning with the doctor. I assume this must be when I get my eye measured up for the transplant, but then again perhaps he just wants to see me to give me my christmas pressie

Hehe, i didn't really have a choice over my name, i was kinda born with it, and spent all my childhood hating it! But as my brother said, it is ok to be called sweetie as a girl, try being a boy and getting called that!!!
And so i changed my mind on the whole thing when i reached my teens, and thought i could have been called something a hell of a lot worse!!!!!!

Hehe, i didn't really have a choice over my name, i was kinda born with it, and spent all my childhood hating it! But as my brother said, it is ok to be called sweetie as a girl, try being a boy and getting called that!!!

I'm back
But didn't see my doctor and thus didn't get my present. I think he must have been out shopping for something really nice.
Today was in fact my appointment prior to my operation. Pulse, blood, weight and ECG test. The ECG turned up a problem though so I'm going to have to go have a stress test before my op. I'll finally get my own personal trainer for the day!!!!!
I knew something was up though when a bird had a little accident on the man walking into the hospital in front of me. He obviously stole my good luck. He didn't share my thoughts though.

A good choice by your parents then.
And Paul, I was sorry I was unable to find your records. I did my best and checked under the chairs and in the waste paper basket.

Am sorry to here about your test results, but am sure that you were probably stressed over an ECG and that it is nothing to worry about. We do so many, and so need to tell you that unless it is something MAJORLY wrong, there isn't a problem. One ECG on it's own isn't much help, you need at least three so that you can follow any changes, so i'm sure that everything will be fine
