Update on my C3R eye

Cornea had regressed to some 53 D and has now gone up to 56 in the past 7 weeks...at its peak before any treatment it was 60 D

However, as long as it stays still till March / Aoril Im ok....!

On the whole J it has regressed and as the literature says in nearly all casses it has been halted and regressed to some degree.

I would be happy if the progression of KC on the whole had halted.

Just incase I opt for this treatment, I am taking the oppertunity to work OT over Christmas. The money will be enough for treatment in Germany and make a holiday of it too!

The overall cost is cheaper to go to Dresden compared to the UK clinics now offering this treatment.

Gareth

I agree...my sole reason for this was to halt the progression to last me out till the latest June next year...as thats when I shall opt for a Partial Graft on that eye (probably sooner actually).....

If you need info on decent Hotels let me know..the one I stayed is is really nice, and literally 5 min drive to the Eye Unit.

Thanks J,

I found out today that while my mother inlaw was a nurse in Germany, the brotherinlaw of one of her ex-colegues used to work at the Hospital in Dresden. He has offerd to translate and speak more with the doctors there and put me up for the time I am there should I opt for the treatment. We have also been invited to go for a holiday over Easter next year.

It's a small world :)

This all sounds really really interesting and it is nice that you have all come back to let us know how things are going!

Gareth yes it is a very small world, but am glad that you will have somewhere to stay and indeed a translator! Can't really ask for more than that!

Jay, i was kinda wondering where you had got to, so thanks for the update. I hope that everything goes well with you!

Am waiting to hear more about this treatment and progress!!

Thanks, love Sweet X x X

Hi All

Thought Id also update this topic

We took readings from the Topog and it seems the Cornea is still flattening...and its now at its flattest its ever been (but still advanced KC in relative terms).....it basically fluctuates about 0.5-1.5 D but that could be for a number of reasons!

So I guess, the aim of the treatment has so far been achieved and that was to halt the progression of KC in this eye!
