Tell a friend - webpage

Postby Sallyuk » Sun 27 Nov 2005 3:36 pm

Hello :D

When accessing the hospital intranet recently I came across a webpage link which I found interesting and possibly useful when trying to explain to friends and family roughly what it is we are experiencing visually  . It's not perfect but it does help I think.

http://www.visionsimulations.com

It allows you to email the simulation to friends and family  .

Hope it is useful to someone :!: .

Let me know your thoughts.

Sally :D

Interesting, I've come across a website like this in the past. Following my graft I attempted to create a "before" and "after" image using Photoshop to help explain the improvement.

Only problem is, how we see the image on screen is different to how other people perceive it - so unfortunately it's not particularly accurate!

A good starting point to help people understand though. Nice one.

Rob.

Sally, I have used this site before and showed what I thought was an accurate representation of my unaided sight to my wife (another Sally)!

It was useful for me...she was really shocked and wouldn't really believe me. Said something about not getting in a car with me again....charming. I had to remind her that it was much better with lenses! :D  I guess it just goes to show how well we KC'ers cope with poorish sight, and how it becomes such a complete norm.

Didn't do me much good though, still had the washing up to do....no sympathy at all, not a jot! :P

Glad you liked the site :D . I looked a bit closer at some of the internal pages within the site and it allows you to play around with the images even further, worth having a go  . Thanks for replying  . Sally
