I'm convinced that masterbating makes my KC worse

Postby reality » Mon 14 Nov 2005 8:56 am

Hi, this is my first post, I was diagnosed with KC a few years ago now.

I have been convinced that masterbating is making my KC worse, I notice my eyes sting and become more blurred after I masterbate, the blurring seems to stay and doesn't get better.

Some of you may laugh at this but I am serious, perhaps this is where the so called masterbating makes you blind myth comes from?

Just wondering what you guys think of this, am I going mad or something or could there be a link?

If this is true, then at least - and unlike most of us - you know how to prevent your KC getting worse in future!
YOu don't give your age, nor whether you're male or female.
Without being a medic, i'd be inclined to think the phenomenon you notice has more to do with an increase in pressure due to the, errm, excitement. You may like to get checked out for high blood pressure and get your eye pressure checked.
Do you also get headaches? - if so, please go and see your doctor. It might be a neck problem.
BTW, it's spelled masturbating, with a "u".
If all else fails, try investigating career options as a monk or nun.

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!

Same spelling and grammer as a previous message with identical content!...But last time I recommended that he take this issue with his parents and consultant....so they both can aide him in decreasing the KC.....

However if this wasnt a joke from a former disgruntled member of this forum; than I sincerely would recommend seeing a Eye Specialist and explaining to them how your actions are affecting your vision..........as the next stage may be hair on palms allegedly (assuming we go inline with the posters initial comparison of the two actions!)
KC is about facing the challenges it creates rather than accepting the problems it generates -

Ok i agree ... but only to the point that this is the mysterious poster who disappeared when no-one paid any interest! If you really believe that this is the problem, then STOP doing it, or go and get it checked out with someone professional.

In the last message posted about this, it was said that there are NO links suggesting this, but if you feel it important, and if your eyesight means anything to you, you will get it looked at, and who knows ... we may be researching this in years to come!

I didn't reply to the last message, but will say that we are all here to learn and find ways to improve our vision and live with KC. To this end, and in respecting and supporting others with this condition, we don't take lightly to those who come here and post complete nonsense. TY

Well, like everyone else here, I have no way of knowing whether this is a genuine query, or a windup. The poster has used a different ISP to the similar questions posted in September, but then that poster used two different ISPs anyway.

Like the first one, this poster has not seen fit to tell us their real name - or even, as Rosemary pointed out, their gender.

I therefore consider this to be a "troll" (see this if you've not come across trolls before), and I'm closing this topic.
John
