3 months check up

Postby Sweet » Fri 11 Nov 2005 7:56 pm

Hey there!

Not been posting much lately, as have been catching up with work after so long off sick with my eyesight. Still not much improvement with good eye, although piggy back lenses, using a soft lens under my RGP is much better. My eye isn't red anymore, but the lenses do blur sometimes, and i have to take the RGP out and rinse it, but this is much better than the pain i had before.

Am reading 6/12 with lenses in that eye so have lost a line, as it was 6/9 at the beginning of this year, but i guess sometimes things do get worse. Am just glad to be back in work again, and this means i am still legal to drive :)

Went for a three month check up today post graft. It went ok and the pressure is good. Managed just barely to read the top line at a push, which is better, as i could only see a light box before, so am getting there. Everything though seems to have healed too well. Now the stitches long like they have been in six months and not half that time!

Had a stitch that was loose and so had to have it taken out, although i hadn't noticed any pain beforehand. I have never been able to feel any of the stitches so it didn't surprise me really. Taking it out was very easy, only took a minute and was painfree. Now i have some antibiotic drops for a few days in case of infection, and needing to check back in in January. Am just hoping that things go ok, as i don't want to take many stitches out too early.

Have been given the all clear to fly, just it would be a good idea to know where to go in case a stitch comes loose. I didn't ask about swimming, as after having a stitch removed i thought it best not to push the issue! LOL! I know he thought i was going to ask but i left well alone hehehe, sometimes i have a little tact

So things are going well :) Have surprised myself more than others, that i have more patience than i thought i would in waiting here for my vision to improve! It has gone really quickly though, and i don't dwell on it too much, am more excited than anything!! Am still using FML drops four times a day, and will let you know how the next check up goes!

23 stitches to go and counting!!

Take care
