Just a quick question!
The past two times I have been due to see 'my' consultant I have been seen by his registar (spl). This is not a problem really but on my next visit I would be keen to see the consultant to discuss some specific issues with him.
Am I entitled to request to see the man himself or could I see his registar again?
Cheers,
Dave.
Do I have to see his registar?

You can try asking..but if you are seeing him on NHS than its more a case of work delegation and importance.....if you have a matter than needs his input than he will see you........
but no harm asking
but no harm asking
KC is about facing the challenges it creates rather than accepting the problems it generates -

I saw the Consultant only once when I first attended the eye clinic at Taunton, that was back in 1993 or so.
Following that I saw his registrar year after year which I always took to be good news as there was little change.
Last time I went in November, I was summoned to see the Consultant and took it as bad news. I was right, I have been in RGP's ever since.
If you're seeing the registrar, I would assume that it's good news to be honest.
