I've been daft

Postby Paul Morgan » Mon 04 Jul 2005 7:54 am

I went on holiday about a month ago to the Loire Valley in France (very nice), and decided that I'd give myself a few days off from the hassle of lenses and all that jazz.

Well a few days turned into a week, then two weeks, then three and finally a month. Ooops.

Anyway, today just over a month later, my wife finally badgered me into getting the things back into my eyes, and so far not too bad. The first five minutes was agony, but now about an hour on, I'm back to normal.

Great stuff.

Don't know why I'm posting this really, just thought you'd like a bit of good news to start the week!

LOL!

Paul great to hear some good news, and i know exactly how you feel. After not wearing lenses for two months the whole idea of trying them again didn't really go down well!

It's the first worry i have every morning, and as you know most things go around lenses and it drives you mad at times! loL!

Glad it all turned out well though and that you had a great holiday!

Hi Caire

Yes the holiday was just the best. Two weeks drenched in beautiful French sunshine.

Good food, great wine and beer, the kids behaved, we stayed on a great campsite near Chinon/Tours, there was a superb pool, it was just perfect.

I don't work for these guys (honest) but I can't speak highly enough of Canvas Holidays www.canvas.co.uk is anyone's looking for a camping type holiday in Europe.

We hired the biggest mobile home I have ever seen, 3 beds, 2 bathrooms, lounge, kitchen, it goes on and it was absolutley great.

Really fond memories.

As for the lenses, still going well.

Paul

Hey thanks for that as i really am searching for camping in France, (or at least i was)! LOL!! Am glad you had such a good time!

Before all these eyesight problems i was trying to book a long weekend, drive to France, camp, so leave the car nicely and SAFELY (because i worry lol!) and then travel to Paris for a couple of days.

My dad has kinda taken on the idea now as i couldn't see to do it, and has decided to drive to France with his gf and my little sister and then on to Southern Spain, which works out as 22 hours! (not in one go obviously!) He's planning to leave in about three weeks, and while i feel sad that i never got to do it, i'm happy for him to go check it out first! LMAO!!

He worries as i've never been to France or driven there before, but i have driven a lot in the states (Texas) with my friends car, so am not at all worried. Well you know how dads can be! lol! Although moving from a tiny village in Wales to now living and driving in London should have given him some idea. I've driven around most of the UK now (apart from the east side of England, not too sure what happened there! LOL!)

So ... while talking about holidays is kinda not eyesight related, it is to me! As you've just given me the push i needed to get my act together now that i have been legally declared to drive again (just making 6/12) So thanks for that!!!!!!!

After next weekend when i'm driving to Scotland for my birthday i need to start seriously planning a trip tp France! Oh dear ... i can't speak a word of french, will some japanese and welsh do??!!

If it's ok i might pm you and ask loads of questions LMAO! I guess you'll be thinking soon that i shouldn't have posted this now!! LOL!!!

Thanks!

Ha, ha.

Well as one Welsh person (albeit exiled in Somerset) to another, I'd be delighted to help you.

Talking and going on holidays is my favourite thing so go ahead and ask.

The only thing I'd say is I'm at work at the moment (honest) and I don't think I can pick up any PM's from here, I have to do that at home....that is unless anyone can tell me how to do it, there must be a way?

LOL! No worries, are you really working?? Are you sure?!!!!!!! LMAO!

I didn't know you were welsh, most who are here seem to hide lol! Somerset though is a nice place to be, and you get much better weather i'm sure!

I'll pm you at some point lol, as just after you posted back i had to race out and go swimming, and now i'm filling in job applications and updating my CV. As well as trying to rewrite my teaching slides as i can't read them myself! Gee, there is no rest for the wicked is there?! So don't worry about being in work, i'm not thinking of travelling right now! I need to get back to work before any of that! hehe

Talk soon
