Hi
I was wondering whether anyone had any good suggestions on how best to cope with the HOT weather. Having just had a PK Corneal Graft in April I am finding the hot weather drying my eye Oout.
Although the Air Con on is at work, I don't directly sit near any vents but definitely feel it contributes to my eye being dry.
Summertime Heat.

I have the opposite problem lol
My graft is fine but my other eye with the Rose K has started to dry in the heat and AC...so past 2 weeks I have been removing the lens, applying Systane, waiting a few minutes, then putting a drop of Boston Conditioning on the lens and putting it back in...do this twice a day now.
On the graft issue, I did raise this same point with my Consultant and he said that some ppl do use sterile artificial tears....ive actually forgoteen the manufacturer......they come in a small bottle.....but there no good from a sterile perspective.....so they also do the same think in little plastic throw away.....things....REFRESH! thats it! lol
But clearly check this with your consultant..etc

KC is about facing the challenges it creates rather than accepting the problems it generates -

Someone suggested wrap around sunglasses a while ago. I got a pair from Boots and have found they make a huge difference. Yesterday I just wore contacts in the office and the wrap-arounds instead of prescription glasses outdoors; even though it was hotter than Wednesday I found it a lot easier to wear the contacts.
On the bright side, it's raining today. I love rain. Is there any way you could raise the humidity level at your desk? I've heard of using a bowl of water or a spray mister.

Heat not a problem for me as I can not wear my lenses. All is going well, so start building up the time from the end of next week.
It is possible to buy small humidifiers, I think some are designed to fit on a desk. A generous sprinkling of herbaceous green stuff that grows will add to the local humidity. A result of respiration and water in the soil that will evaperate. No idea of quntity or sizes.
Would love to have some on my desk and turn it to a small jungle to help hide from the boss!
