hi ive been diagnosed 18 years. Ive tried all sorts of lenses. I have an intolerance to lenses and my corneas are very steep.
Constant irritation, vision isnt too good either.
At what stage do they decide that you are ready for the op?. Cause im so frustrated that i would jump at the chance. Ive been through the lenses and all that stuff.

Well I guess you have to ask yourself whether you can continue with day to day life on a as is basis currently?....there are now soo many new techniques to help KC patients that are not as main stream yet but will be available.

If you have truely exchausted all lenses including sclerals and you cannot get aqeauqt vision across the ball...then you may wish to see some specialists...but do NOT jump into an OP on the first say so of a Consultant...get a few opinions...there are a number of things that patients with Level 4 KC can do such as Intacs, Ferrara RIngs, Mini Ark, DALK, and then the very last resort of Corneal Transplant....

Ive just had a corneal transplant in my left eye 2 weeks ago.
I`d tried various screal and corneal lenses over the last 6 years,and spent hours at Moorfields but it had got to the stage where no benefit to my vision was derived from wearing them and there were no other options
Figuring I had nothing too lose I had the cornealgraft done.
2 weeks on,so far so good and alreadyan improvement although I am yet to have the refractice test in a couple of weeks.
