maaaaaaaaaaaaan... as if my bro bangin dads car wasn;t enufff...i managed to fracture me wrist on sat... and in cast for 6 weeks! welll everryonne will be abke to spot me now... in brummie!

Oh dear ..... you have my sympathies.
One handed contact lens routines that will take a little practise, I expect.
How much plaster have you got? And is the arm plastered in a funny position or will you be able to use it for the contacts, to some extent.
Can offer any tips, I am sorry to say.

Been there done that. but this only works with sclerals so please don't repeat this to Ken Pullen.
Steralise a 2L coke bottle. Take the cap off balance the lens in the bottle opening fill with amidose and head but the bottle (nicely or it hurts). With your eye in the lens lift the lens away from the bottle (you can do this one handed) then sort your eyelids out.
Bingo.
I did try half filing the bottle with water so you reduce the risk of knocking it over. Its fine till you do and then you get soaked.
This method was developed out of shear frustration and inginuity. Please don't try this at home - leave it to the frustrated and the professionals.

Hi Drew. You may have just shot yourself in the foot - I know Ken tries to keep a beady eye on these forums!
Seriously though, that's quite an interesting idea, and it may actually work to help getting bubbles in, too.
Not that I'm recommending anything!!

I am going to Moorfields on Wednesday so we'll have to see if I get a wry smile or a telling off.
I have thought quite a bit about it since I tried it because I have so much problems getting them in. Why is it we accept that we have to put the lens to our eye when we could bring ourselves to our lens?

excelllent technique... ingenuity is most definately the word... (i'm sure ken will agree.. though not endorse!)
well unfortunately mine are RGP's so likkle things... guess i just have to be really nice to smeone in the morning to put them in for me!

it's from just below the elbow all the way to middle of the hand...
coz it's fractured moving the fingers is a pain! and don;t get me started on the itching sensation!!!!
