tl;dr
looking for advice on how to clean contact lens cases, please.
long story
I've had KC since I was 13 diagnosed back in the 80s and have been wearing gas perms ever since. i don't really remember the care advice back then but it wasn't much. i guess HCPs assume you know it and don't remind you of good practice.
Anyway last year I had keratitis in one of my eyes. one of the worst and most painful experiences of my life. most probably from swimming in my lenses (with goggles) so trying to up my game. i don't want that again.
for years (34 ish) I've just washed my cases under the tap and left them to dry in the window. so I was wondering the correct way to clean them.

I was recommended like you long ago that Milton Sterilising tablets were a good option. Definitely don't rinse in tap water, that's always a 'no-no'. Shops like Savers and the supermarkets usually have cheap sterile saline which is good enough for this sort of rinsing but not for your eyes.

I try and do it once a week. It should be OK if you always clean your lenses before you store them.

thanks. what do you do on a daily basis? wash them in saline or just tip the soaking solution away?

Tip it away, so change it each time you use it.

Re: cleaning contact lens cases
And don't forget that contact lens cases should be replaced regularly, at least every three months is the usual recommendation.

Now replacing cases is another story - where to get them? Moorfields never seem to have any in stock. Almost stopped asking!
