Help with sun glare when driving

Looking for suggestions as to help cut out sun glare when driving. Ever since cornea transplant number of years ago eyes have been very sensitive to bright light. Causes havoc now that learning to drive. Normal sunglasses do not help much.

I know what you mean about the glare..started driving the other day and it did hit my quiet bad.

I bought a pair of complete dark glasses which cut out the sensitivity and glare for me. The usual glasses I used pre-graft were no good to be.

Have you tried other mre darkened glasses?

Putting my Physics student head on and experience of fitting myself out with a set of glasses, if the lenses were polarised and the angle of the polarised plane of the lens was ajusted to an optimum for the individual cone I have been able to reduce glare to a greater extent than with ordinary tints..

I got this done by going to one of the high street Opticians with a 1 hour service lab on site and having a chat with the lens technician who helped me find the optimum angle of lens rotation for me and then ground polished fitted the lens to my glasses.

Hope this gives you an angle for investigation, I did have to get the glasses made up by trial and error but it has helped me enough to make me think it was worth it.

You know the lenses that are on the glasses..are they all Tinted or streamed tinted depending on which angle you look at the lens?

Ever since i learnt of my KC i have sworn by Oakley sunglasses as they are polirised, heavily packed with health aiding features for ppl like us. Simple features like the wrap around frames, thick arms. Thnen u have the lens features polirised frm the outside, antiglare frm the inside of the lens, the angle of the lens spreads the light well etc.....

Yes they are expensive but the comfort u get frm them is priceless. I drive comfortably, never leave home without them come rain or shine. The KC centre website users recommend these sunglasses as well. But again this is a personal opinion & does not reflect the views of the website.

Polarised lenses aren't tinted link normal tinted lenses although to look at them you can't really tell the difference.

You'll tend to find the more expensive sunglasses have polarised lenses as standard.

They work by stopping light in a paticular plane passing through them.

The physics is quite simple to understand but youll get a better explanation from Google than i can do on here.

Oh without a doubt....but funny enough he also mentoned to me the glasses Naeem did..the Oakley..or the "rich manes glasses" as may be the case lol......He had a new design in with MP3 system in beat and was showing me...lol....more for the runner I guess!.....

But will run it past him....as what I did find whilst driving the other day was that if i turn my head and eyes say to the left...light would seep through and Id get thisreally sharp sensitivity feeling in the eye from the sun.......was wierd......so going to found out about that as well.......may try a pair for a week if he feels there worth the purchase for my own case

I know where your coming from I have a pair of Oakleys and it killed me buying them with plane lenses I want to get them with a perscription in but they cost £230.00 and thats beyond me.

Still with my white cane and Oakleys must be looking one cool blind man.
