Moorfields clinic appointments

Postby Ronnie Smith » Tue 12 Apr 2016 8:51 pm

I am having discomfort from one of my contact lenses which means I am struggling to wear it for long but my follow up appointment at Moorfields is still several weeks away. I tried ringing the clinic to ask for an earlier appointment but was offered a slot a month after the appointment I already have. Does anyone have any suggestions about how to get seen quicker?

The contact lens clinic at Moorfields does have what they call 'urgent review appointments' but that system only offers an appt within 4 weeks, so probably won't be much help to you if you've already got an appt sooner than that. I guess your only option if you're struggling is to go along to Moorfields A&E. They won't be able to solve the contact lens problem, but would be able to tell you if there's something going on like an abrasion which might mean you need to leave the contact lens out for a few days for it to heal.
