Hi,
I have just recently been prescribed scleral lenses and its been a couple of weeks since I have had them. I have been finding that when I put them in after about half an hour the right side of my right eye gets very red and I can see the small red veins coming across up to the lens and its quite painfull. I really wanted these to be a good fit as I had been struggling comfort wise with the standard hard lens. I seen the hospital last week and the seemed to think it was the correct fit. Has anyone else had issues like this with scleral lenses?
Regards
Khalid

Re: scleral lenses pain
I don't wear sclerals, but I have heard people suffer this as a result of oxygen starvation to the corne which in most cases was resved by adding 'fenestrations' I think they are called which helps an element of tear flow in to the saline filled lens and improved oxygen permeability.

Thanks Gareth for the reply. I am going back to hospital in a few days time and see what they say. My eyes didnt go that red on sclera with my smaller rgps.
