Sorry but i need to leave here

Postby Sweet » Mon 09 May 2005 9:14 am

I dont want to leave, but i feel i am stuck in the middle of a debate which is going to lose me more than anything else. I dont really know what to believe anymore and i never came here to talk politics, brand names and hear stories about other people.

Im not making my mind up on who i believe, why should i? Im not benefitting here. Im happy to be going back to Wales to try to correct this vision problem, and am hoping to make an informed decision about what lenses i choose. (Hehe, well they do speak my language after all, with a welsh accent!! :)) Adter 2 - 3 years of constant pain and redness with my rgp you cant blame me for looking for a different lens!

I just dont want to be a part of this political debate anymore, and while i am sure it will be the same back home, at least i wont know about it!! I know how products etc get backed and advertised, i work in the NHS and there is way too much of that there, but i only came here to get some help and support after 12 years of feeling totally alone with this condition. I didnt come here to change the world or jump on someones band wagon in a bid to gain them more sucess!! I think for most here they just need some support as they suffer with this condition, we dont need to be aware of the politics that surrounds all of this. Somethings are better left unsaid.

As you all know i attend Moorfields and so need to protect myself here to make sure i get the help and support i need.

I hope you all work this out and move on. Before this i did think it was a really nice forum to be a part of and am glad to be here if for such a short time. Politics aside there are some genuinely nice people here who struggle a lot of days with this condition and provide a lot of help and support. To them i wish you all the best and hope you find the care you need!

John please dont delete this as i wasnt too political! LOL! I just want to say thanks and godbye. :)

Well ... home i go!

Take care ... Claire X x X

Claire, don't go, away from this forum that is! You have brought a fresh air to things keeping us updated and stimulating some good and beneficial discussions.

At the end of the day you need to find what is best for you as your health is No 1. For me, I will still endorse the Rose K RGP lenses as they have provided me with the best comfort and visibility, but with the posts that get placed here I hpoe to stay up to date with new developments as they happen.

Being involved in the health industry and having taken part in some clinical trials as a sublject the gamble is worth it.

Good luck and say HI to the homeland for me! My full name means old man blacksmith when translated from Welsh to English! I am not old and no good at metal working, but at least I am Welsh, the home of the finest Rugby Team!

What ever happend to Max Boyce? :?

Claire,

I havent ever seen anything like what happend this weekend on here before. I am really sorry that you feel let down to the extent that you want to leave.

You have brought a refreshing outlook to the forum and its one that I have really enjoyed hearing.

I'd be really happy to think that you are still looking in on us and seeing the forum as it really is, and not just a weekend of disruption.

Maybe then youll feel comfortable enough to participate, and benefit from the same support that I get from here.

Take Care

Drew

Claire

You need to do whatever is best for you and follow whatever path necessay to get your lenses/sight situation sorted.

It is a very bleak place when one can't see and must be really difficult for you especially as you are a nurse.

We are all individuals with our own differnet needs what suits one will not necessarily suit another and ALL avenues should be explored to the lenght you find best for yourself.

Nothing ventured nothing gained I think is the phrase.

best wishes

Susan

I can't belive how much life has been breathed into this forum over the last few months.

Been checking here for 2 years now and I remember when a new post a week would be about the norm, think the average is several every day now!

Recent things has clouded the water a bit but such is life and we al meet people and problems like this everyday!

There is no way I am allowing the minority to spoil my main support network...so let's all keep up the regular constructive posts!

Dam now what am i going to say to that! Hehe, you ever heard the saying that flattery will get you everywhere!! LMAO! (Hehe now Drew knows what that means so my good deed here is done!!) :)

So many people can come out of the woodwork and post in such a short time, its really impressive! (No condescending intended) Maybe i need to bear that in mind and start a revolution!! :) Shock horror Sweet takes over the world!!!!!!!!! Hmmm ... then again, maybe not, maybe not today, im rather busy, you know how it is!!!!!!!!!

Anyway ... now that i have dragged myself out of the email and pm landslide and replied to you all which took forever with this dam vision, i guess i will put a big thanks here for your replies.

I think this all just came at the wrong time, as im stressed about my eyesight enough as it is, and i dont need to hear two sides of an argument i was never even in! But, i understand and listened having seen this too many times not to know that it will all blow over, and that time heals everything (even my eyesight i am told!!!)

So im going to be optimistic here, i have to really as the big bus is coming for me tomorrow and i cant see the dam thing!!! (LOL) And i know that some time away sunning myself and having a break will sort everything out. (Oh dammit, it is Wales im going too isnt it?, maybe i need my rain coat after all and ditch the sun cream!! hehehehe)

So hold the fort til i get back, let me go away and think, and i'm sure that this will all blow over. Someone asked me if they should leave instead of me, lol, but no, i never listened to anyone before, and i guess i wont now! If i had listened and stopped wearing lenses maybe i wouldnt be in this mess now! But hey there is no rest for the wicked!!

So off i go to finish packing!

Take care and a big hello to new friends i havent had a chance to say hi to yet! When i get back im sure that reading posts here wont be quite as hard.

Time will sort everything out and optimism is everything!! :) Im sure i'll talk to some of you again if i dont come back, but i havent ruled out the possibility of bouncing back in to post again yet!!

Cheers, Claire X x X
