hi my name is daniel and this is my story so far can you help?
I attended North Mid hospital just over a week ago, my contact lens speacialsist has taken over from my previous doctor who specialsied in K.c. the specialsit told me that a lot the patients he was seeing has unusually hiugh prescriptions for allergies, myself included, as a result of this he wanted to stop or slow down the use of allegy drops (opticrom) to see if there indeedm are any allyerges. what he didnt do is the usuall eye examination for allergies (turnig the eye lid over). should he have done this already??
I went to Moorfield last week (Bank holiday ) and they looked at my eyes and checked for allergies. they came back with the conclusion that i have allergic Coinjuctivitis. obviously my allergies are very high. i have also been fitted with lenses 3 sets so far since 2004 all of which
have not corrected my vision to the standard that my old lenses did
make my eyes very sore
i can only wear them for limited periods.
because of this i am feeling very low and frustrated, even typing this email is hard work.
i asked my doctor to refer me to Moorfields, but i will need tom wait fro an appointment. do you have any suggestions as to how i could be seen quicker, coz i am desperate to get some more comfortable easier to wear lenses.
pls reply asap. thank you
Hi my name is Daniel

if you're having allergy problems it's worth thinking about whether you're getting sensitive to the lens solutions as well - these used to cause me a lot of problems, especially in the summer, until I started washing the protein remover off with saline solution - since then I've been wearing them a lot longer. In really bad weather (i.e. hot) I rinse off the conditioner as well before I put them in my eyes.
