I have a PK and a DALK. Oddly my PK gives me better vision.

Re: Corneal graft - precision laser surgery
One has to bear in mind that forums like this naturally attract more patients who are having some issues/concerns/complications with their KC and its management. Thousands of patients who live a perfectly normal life with specs, contact lenses or whatever form of correction that suits them tend not to be followers of support forums as they are coping well and do not need any "support". This is perfectly natural. I realise there are exceptions, especially newly diagnosed patients who find the forum very helpful in learning more about their condition and sharing the experiences of others. There was a period a number of years ago when a lot of the treads on the forum were "doom and gloom" and I remember mentioning this to Anne at the time. I think the balance is much better now and its certainly helpful for everyone to hear about negative as well as positive experiences of others. Its common knowledge in customer service that an unhappy customer is likely to be much more vocal than a satisfied customer who tends to take the satisfaction for granted. The same is true for patients suffering with any ailment and KC suffers with a negative experience are naturally going to be more vocal than those whose experience has been plain sailing.

I don't perceive this forum as ever having been doom & gloom
