to the 31st May deadline for booking a place at the Manchester conference. Don't miss out on the chance to meet lots of other people with KC, hear talks about crosslinking, Intacs, the variety of contact lenses, the work of the Eye Bank and corneal donation and more! So all you North West and Yorkshire members, don't feel isolated any more - come to a great KC day. And if you live elsewhere in the UK, you're more than welcome too! But do get your booking form back to us before the end of the month to be sure of your place.
And if you've mislaid the form, or didn't receive one, just e-mail anne@keratoconus-group.org.uk for another.
Hope to see lots of you on 15th June!
Anne

Postcode is M2 5NS and start time is 10.30 (with registration from 10am). But please send in a booking form before you drive, or you might be disappointed! Hope to see you there.

Re: Only 8 days left....
Anne,
I note the title of the conference - "Keratoconus -positive progress"
Can you supply any information on car parking, at or near the venue free/reasonable cost if possible.
I note the program is identified as draft and there are two speakers in the morning and two in the afternoon but there are no set times. What is included for lunch and refreshment during the day. What time is the lunch break between.
Also the last item on the agenda in the afternoon "General Discussion" whats times/duration is being allocated for this?
Sady there is no KC Support Group in the North of England. This conference provides a catalyst opportunity for recreating this and also an opportunity to see the new MREH hospital officially opened by the Queen last year,- certainly evidence of positive progress in terms of infrastructure.

Re: Only 7 days left....
Hi Steve,
There will be tea and coffee on arrival for registration at 10am. The conference starts promptly at 10.30. We deliberately try to have a long lunch break at our conferences, as being able to talk to other people with KC on the day is as important as hearing interesting talks from the speakers! So that's from 12.30 to 2pm. There will be another tea break at 3.30 followed by a panel session of around half an hour with members of the committee when as well as answering any general questions, we'll talk about regional KC groups. It's no coincidence that we decided the conference should be in Manchester this year - we'd dearly love to have a regional group in the area.
As for parking, I'm afraid there's no parking at the venue until after 1.30pm (parking slots are used by local business in the morning). I was told there are several car parks nearby though I don't know what the charges are. I'll check out the Manchester Friends Meeting House website to see if there's any more info about that. Or maybe some of the locals can give us some suggestions?

Re: Only 2 days left....
Unfortunatley unable to attend the conference as away but I am local
I would say the nearest car park is the AMC northern which is a multistorey based near the local cinema, it is still around a 5 minute walk to the meeting house from here but reasonably easy to find

Re: Hurry, hurry, still a few places left!
Thanks Jennie. And thank you to all the members who have sent in booking forms in the last week. There are still a few places left, so I'm extending the deadline by a few days (I have to give definite numbers to the venue in a few days time). Don't miss out on what will be a very interesting day, and a chance to meet lots of other members. I can e-mail a booking form to anyone who has mislaid/didn't receive one if you contact anne@keratoconus-group.org.uk

Re: Hurry, hurry still a few places left
Hi all
There's an open air car park on Oxford road where the old BBC building used to be (around a 5 min walk from the venue). I would say that is the nearest but not sure of the cost
See you there!!!
BTW I will be driving in from Rawtenstall and can take a few people from there if anyone is intetested
