New Lenses - for me anyway

Postby jayuk » Thu 24 Feb 2005 5:58 pm

Hi all

Just thought Id give a headsup on something new my Opt tried

Basically had Hydrops in my right eye and have extensive scarring in the central regiont thus am thinking of a transplant. However in my left eye the corneal lens I was wearing was hurting my eye

Anyhow, cut a long story short I went to a Opt who specialises in KC in East London who I have known, and he decided to experiment with new lenses....(still a patient at MEH but guess was a little fed up with I guess the effort made to try new things ). Anyhow, wearing his new lens..its basically a larger corneal lens which covers the whole pupil and I can tell you it feels abslutely fantastic......comfort wise....vision I am getting 6/9 and 6/12 but am able to go about my life now.....I am getting the lens name and manufacturer to post here....but thought Id post this info..as I have had the trial lens in now for 9 days with a great success.

PS - Just another link I was shown for a lens

The lens I have now are Hard Lenses but are alot bigger then standard RGPs therefore I dont get the annoying feeling in the eye when I blink. Having tried everythng from corneals,RK to Sclerals these have def been on par with Scl for comfort
