Anti glare coatings for glasses. Any good?

Postby russell s » Fri 03 May 2013 4:00 pm

Just wondered if anyone can comment from experience if anti glare coatings for prescription glasses help to reduce ghosting/starbursts when driving?

Thanks,
Russ

Hi Russell, I have anti-glare on my prescription glasses, but in all honesty I still find I'm affected by the ghosting. It probably does make a small difference as in it would be better to have it than not, but I think you will still be affected.

Hope this helps :)

Thanks Cherry. Even a small improvement is worth the cost, which I think is somewhere around £30.

I have anti glare coating on my prescription glasses: both for seeing and for reading. I find it makes a huge difference, and wouldn't go back to having glasses without it.

Thanks Andrew, I'll certainly be opting for the anti glare. Will be managing my KC soon with combination of an RGP lens in one eye and glasses correcting the milder KC in the other. Also, need reading glasses to counter presbyopia.
