Hi all,
So I had a DALK in September last year and things had started to settle these last few months.
However, just over a month ago I noticed redness in the eye had the op in (Left). I went to A&E at Moorfields and they told me I'd burst a blood vessel but that it was nothing serious and should heal in the next few days. i then went to see my surgeon who performed the DALK and he said the same thing, adding that it can take up to two weeks to heal.
For the last two weeks the redness as become just a red dot on the bottom of my iris. It's not painful and the vision is good. I noticed last night, after a long day of teaching that the red dot had become slightly redder. I'm a bit concerned that my eye still hasn't healed, despite it being nearly 3 weeks over the two weeks I was initially told it would take
Should I get this checked out? Does anyone have any advice of what i can do to get rid of this red dot?
Many thanks
Blood shot eye

Re: Blood shot eye
Hi Fatar,
I'm afraid that if you're still concerned then there's no real alternative to getting it checked out. Some of us take longer to heal than others, and it sounds harmless but.... My philosphy in the months post graft was always to err on the side of caution and I was never made to feel I was wasting anyone's time by getting things checked.
Good luck
Anne
