Help!!!! Kerasoft Lenses
I have been diagnosed as a Keratoconus patient for over 8 years now...I have been able manage relatively well up until...the last two years. I cant even see the big E with my left eye and my right is getting progressively worse. The recommendation made to me was to have cross linking on my right eye and a corneal graft on my left...however in my country both are expensive procedures...In the interim I am going to be fitted with contact lenses...Kerasoft which is also costly but my best option right now. I wanted to have some feedback on Kerasoft lenses and how effective they are for Keratoconus patients...has anybody ever used them before.

Welcome to the forum.
Your optometrist will try to combine the mix of lens style and material that best suits your keratoconus. I have never managed to wear a soft lens; others find them perfect.
Br guided by the optometrist who looks at your eye and sees it through the slit lamp and who has your detailed readings.
Every good wish.

Re: Help!!!! Kerasoft Lenses
I have heard Kerasoft Lenses are very successful...do u think they may replace the need for a corneal graft...I know there are many people who wear them in the UK...i only want to have a graft done as my very last option...

I understand that Kerasoft lenses are very successful for some people. I think it very unlikely that they will replace the need for corneal grafts in all cases.

Hi Kezia,
I have been wearing Kerasoft lenses for some time now, and I would highly recommend them!
Before I was fitted with them I had to wear RGP lenses, which are the rigid gas permeable ones, they were highly uncomfortable!
Did you have your lenses fitted in the end?
Gabriela.

Re: Help!!!! Kerasoft Lenses
Kerasfot lenses saved me from a graft! (but then as we all know, all cases are different).
Andrew, you say that soft lenses don;t work for you, but can I ask if you have tried any in the last year or so? If not, can I ask if you would consider this a good idea or are you simply very happy with your current arrangement?

Re: Help!!!! Kerasoft Lenses
Hi guys,
I had my fitting for Kerasoft Lenses today...it was a definite success...I can now see in my left eye and my right eye is 20/30...Kerasoft lenses are saving from having a graft done...I will only have a graft done as my very last option.

Re: Help!!!! Kerasoft Lenses
My eyes were very bad, especially my right eye. I had the CXL procedure on my eyes, but before this I was told that my right eye was on the point of collapse, so I had it done just in time! The lenses followed, and have been a success!
