Postby SimonB » Mon 24 Jan 2011 9:47 am

Hi,

do you know if you can get lens insurance on NHS lenses?

i lost mine last weekend and am waiting for a new one to arrive.

Someone mentioned insurance, but i dont know anything about it.

Can you reccomend anyone and what will it cover.

Regards,

Simon.

Insurance can be extortionate for our type of lenses, check your home insurance policy.

My home insurance actually covers my lenses just as if I lost my mobile phone or camera.

Plus my hospital will replace a lost or broken lens free of charge provided asking for a replacemnet isn't a regular occurance.

My home insurance (MoreThan) covers contact lenses as well.

I can't remember whether I had to add it when I took out the policy with the old royal sun alliance, or not.

All the best
