I have had a cornea transplant (September 07) and just started wear contacts......
now hospital optician had just dispensed the lens with out any fitting
( yes had fitting before hand) but not seen when I picked them up.
( no seen me with the lens in at all)
any way when I saw optician under NHS years ago, he made sure he saw every lens
I had especially after a new graft.
under hospital contact lens clinic now.........
I think the care has been poor? am I right ? what do I do? seems standard practice now........
as of today no optician seen me with a lens due to see my cornea consultant in Jan 25th 2010
still not got a optician appointment.
to me its all bad care??
I feel I am going along ok my self ( own assessment) how do you tackle huge question of
care and practice??
in a nut shell>>> they just dispense the lens with out seeing it in.

House.
I'm glad you are at the point of having correction for your post graft eye.
My guess is that they have given you a lens away to try. Build up slowly and if you have any difficulties go back.
All the best.

Re: Hospital Contact Lens Care
Hello house,
The best advice is to telephone the clinic and discuss your concerns with them. If you are not happy with that, then phone the secretary of your consultant. They will be able to explain why you have been dispensed the lens without being seen.
