I am very happy for you and your son that he does not need a graft! I think that a graft really is a last option as there are so many lenses to try first. I have had a graft on my left eye because I tried many lenses but was unable to get any vision because of the scarring I had. It made sense to me to get one done as I have never had any vision with that eye. The other eye I am certainly not going to graft!! As while I can see very little without lenses, with them I can see 6/6.
Going to a surgeon you will get the opinion that a surgical route is the only way to get a good result, when that really isn't true. The good thing about lenses is that they can be removed and you can try a different lens, while having a graft is irreversible!
Lynn, hehe I have come to my senses now and know that I am waiting for
Kerasoft to come through the door!! LOL!!! Hehe, I didn't think it was going to be Softperm, just having a very manic day and posting here so quickly I lost my little brain cell!!!
