Upper Intac Removed and new left contact lens

Hi Folks,

Just to let you know that I had the upper segment intac removed from my right eye a couple of weeks ago. Eye was sore for a few days, and still is from time to time but all seems to be ok so far. I am back to see the consultant nex week. I've not had a refraction yet but I have noticed some changes - not sure if they are for the better or worse.

In the meantime I was back with the optometrist for a contact lens fitting for the left eye. I now have a Rose K2 rgp lens.
So far building up the wear time is ok but cant really get past 3 -4 hrs, as going unaided in the right eye for that lenght of time limits what I can do and there is only so much time one can sit and do nothing!!

As anyone had experience of this type of lens?? I have been given a cleaning solution called QUATTRO, I've not heard had this one before.

Will report back next week after my appointment with the consultant. Hopefully he tells me that the cornea is re shaping again and that we can see an improvement in my vision.

I used to have a Rose K in my left eye. Changed it for a soft lens because I wanted to see if a soft lens for KC would work for me rather than there being a problem with the Rose K.

We are all different getting used to lenses so it might be a case you have to get properly acclimatised to the 4 hours wear and only build up 15 - 30 minutes every couple of days rather than try and rush it and cause damage.

From your post it appears you are being sensible so its just self discipline to maintain that even though you have more time doing not a lot than you'd like.

i have had experience of rose k lenses and wore them with no problems for nearly 5 years , it did take some time to get used to them though which was a little frustrating at time but perseverance proved well in the long run..all the best with your lens
