Yeah, a phase with very runny eyes and some pain sounds like it might have been a baby hydrops.
My lenses are (always have been) sclerals, and I'd normally be a bit disappointed with max 4 and a half hours wear. ut it does vary - if I leave it in far too long one day, my eye lets me know (formerly, my eyes let me know) all about it the next day or two or three.
I suspect you may be having more of a "getting used to it" curve to go up with a new fit of corneal lens, so can only agree with Gareth - not worth pushing your luck with wearing times and building up times too fast.
As for puttin git back in later - I've never been able to do this. I never fail to be amazed at the people who can take a lens out, relubricate it and put it back in again. My eyes complain like mad if I try to do that, and always have done. Son't know why - I guess people just vary. But at a very personal level, if I'd had to take a lens out after 4.5 hours earlier inthe day, I'd reckon I was lucky to get it in for 45 minutes to go home in.
(Haven't tied putting a lens in for the last 2 days - had it in far too long on Sunday, and spent over 12 hours at the stable yard - lots of horse hair/dandruff, hay, straw and wood shavings, and sand from the all-weather arena we ride in, so not surprising it felt I'd overdone it! SOre eyes and nurofen for the headaches last 2 days. Should be more snesible!)
Anyway, keep going with the new lens, and keep buildingup gently, and hope it goes well - do keep us posted.
Rosemary
