Dry air in the office? Humidity?

Sorry David, over xmas, i sold it.
I had the same problems, the office i was in peaked at 20% humidity.
I ended up having to quit as my desk humidifier did mothing in the hangar sized office.
Although this is not a good situation, i can say that it was the humidity that caused me to suffer so badly and if you are able to get a solution, you will be better off.

Was there absolutly nothing your employers could do to help?

Sorry I just find it very disturbing to hear some one has to quit because of the environment they work in affecting their KC.

We all asked about it as people were having respiratory problems and dry skin etc.
They said that thier air con unit had a humidifier unit but it was broken and they wouldnt fix it.
I didnt mind too much as there were other reasons i left as well. i went on to bigger and better things. Although i do feel sorry for those still there.
The office was converted from a plastic injection moulding plant. it is the size of an aircraft hanger so my little desk humidifier didnt do much to help.

I have to apologise to one and all for not coming on here for absolute ages. I had to respond to this post as I have been down the lonely road of Air Conditioning.
In a nutshell I had a Bionaire Humidifier next to my desk to sort out my problems and when word got around it appears that lots of Non KC lens wearers had been having problems had to wear their glasses to work and some had given up their lenses altogether. There was a lot of stupidity from managers about it cant be dry in the office its raining outside. Luckily my boss was sympathetic and | didnt have to fight for my humidifier. Later on he was replaced by a guy who was as tactful as a bulldozer about all things girlie etc and then one day he enquired as to to why I needed my humidifier and lo and behold he had been through cataract surgery in his early 30's and so gave his full support to anyone in his department with any eye condition and several more humidifiers appeared.

My condition was so bad that I bought a humidifier for home use (a very big expensive one).

This was all some time ago. In October 2007 I was redundant after 30 years (I actually volunteered as I knew one out of 4 would go they had young families and mortgages ahead of them and I was offered a reduced pension.

I am broke as I am making a living as an Artist and the good old Credit Crunch has hit and I have a horse to keep but and it is a big BUT I have not had a single days bad eye time since 1 November 2007 and I do not need a humidifier in the house anymore.
