Hi
I did post a reply to this ages ago but I see it's not showing up - now does that mean my PC was playing up - or did a moderator delete it by mistake?
I might be able to come along to this - but can't access the facebook page. Has it been decided where please, and a time?

Thanks
(from a "lurker" but not often "poster" these days!!

Pat

Nice to see you out of the undergrowth!

I just checked and so far as I can tell, none of your posts have been removed. Maybe your computer, or your internet connection?

All the best

Andrew

Hey, would love to attend the picnic.

Put my name down on the facebook thingy. If I am in London (might be on holiday if the wifey ever manages to book it)then I'm there!

I can't get anything on the facebook page - doesn't seem to work with my text-only browser.
Please could someone let me kno - or better still post it on this forum??? - where and what time everyone's meeting?
I presume the idea is we all bring things to eat and drink, and can then swap-and-share if we wish?

Good point Rosemary. Only a week and a half to go, Thomas, over to you to enlighten those who want more details as not everybody is ably to do facebook.

Hello Rosemary,

Just to be clear I'm not sure what the state of things are regarding tomorrow's picnic.

The event details as listed on FB are

Date:
Sunday, August 24, 2008

Time:
12:00pm - 6:00pm

Location:
Clapham Common?

However the last message that Tom posted on the wall for this event said

9:56pm on August 14th, 2008

Hi all.
My eyes have taken a turn for the worst recently and have not been able to use my computer, most notably i have been effected emotionally by it and have been unable to give this event the attention it requires. I am hoping that someone will take this on and complete my foundations for this picnic.
Sorry

Tom

Make of that message what you will but it doesn't appear that anyone has taken over the organising, if any other Facebookers have done then they're keeping pretty quiet about it. I'm not going to say one way or another whether this is going ahead as I'm not going to be able to make it either way tomorrow.

Apologies for the seeming vagueness of the reply but I'm going on all the info that is available.

Hope this can help answer a few questions

Jez.

Jez, thanks for the info.
It's been frustrating not hearing, because when I tried to go to the FB address, all I got was a blank black screen... story of one's life trying to rely on Lynx these days, lifeline though it is normally.
SOunds like the picnic probably not happening, then.... shame.
I guess some of us here should get organised and arrange something for another day - tomorrow a bit short notice now.
worrying to hear Tom's been going through a rough time - I do hope he's pulling through. THis can be a really rotten condition for the bad times and the frustration, downers, etc.
