I have never seen it suggested that CXL would decrease corneal thickness, although I do know that they tend not to offer this treatment if the cornea is too thin.

Some say that they got there cornea thickness increased after the procedure but when I asked my Dr he said it doesn’t so I am just checking out. Maybe some other Dr’s have opinion in mind.

I know that this is all very confusing; perhaps because CXL is still a new therapy doctors are right to be cautious about the expectations they raise for patients who are considering the procedure.

This amazingly simple process has been shown in laboratory and clinical studies to increase the amount of collagen cross-linking in the cornea and strengthen the cornea. In published European studies, such treatments were proven safe and effective in patients.

All the best.
