The signs of a possible rejection are sometimes summarized in the mnemonic "RSVP"

R: Redness (unusual redness of the eye)
S: Sensitivity (increase in light sensitivity)
V: Vision (sudden change in vision clarity)
P: Pain (increase in eye pain)

Even if it is nothing, you will at least have the comfort of knowing that you checked. Let us know how you get on.

I agree with Andrew. I am very paranoid about my eye. Last time I had some pain return I went to see my doctor and he needed to remove a stitch. I have the same type of feeling today and will definately drop in there this morning- I know all the assistants and receptionists by their first names and am lucky that they dont even ask me to make appointments- They squeeze me in.
Rather safe than sorry- after all we have been through we want it to last....

I decided to hold off as eye seemed better the next morning

On Friday 9th May 11am I had a gas bubble injected which was a very weird sensation and not a nice one . All went well till I had been home 2 hours when I thought some one was put hot needles into my eye and forehead my nose and eye were streaming and it was agony I had decided if it was still hurting in 20 more minutes I would ask wife to take me back . I had taken some strong pain killers and passed out .I woke after 2 hours feeling fair bit better and pain had dropped to just a niggle so I left it

I spent most of the weekend on my back...so boring ..I ended up taking laptop to bed and wedging it on my chest @ 5kg thats a weight. Anyway went to see consultant on Tues 13th and he was very pleased as the bubble had worked and had also been absorbed.He took a scan and showed myself and the wife the scan and all looked well. I am back on the 3rd June to have 1 or 2 stitches removed as they are pulling the graft out of shape a little.

Sight is slightly less then before operation but more uniform

Great Picture! And thanks for the update.

don't be too worried about your sight at this stage; the important thing is that your transplanted tissue is healthy and in place, knitting into the host tissue of your eye. Your ophthalmologist will be watching this and keeping a check on how your vision is going. when the graft has stabilized the ophthalmologist will look at ways of rendering your vision as close to 6/6 (or better) as possible.

That doesn't sound normal to me. I would suggst that you have your doctor look at it. Maybe other people have had similar experience?

Hello All

Just and update ..

I had a a stitch removed yesterday 03/06/08 . Have been told that another will be taked out in 3 weeks . today i have seen a pretty good improvement in my vision still blurred but I can define objects better

Heres a pic ..top left stitch was removed from only thing I noticed a cloudy blemish very bottom right..this is 1st time ive seen it for my self any idea's ?
