I'm at Sadlers Wells

Postby Louise Pembroke » Sun 25 Nov 2007 2:58 pm

I have been selected to perform a dance at Sadlers Wells on 8th December at the Lilian Baylis Theatre. It's an 'Open Platform Dance Night' where companies both professional and non-professional perform, it's an annual event.

I'm only just fit enough as my asthma has deteriorated in the last few weeks. I now use 3 inhalers a day and still keel over whenever I do cardiovascular exercise at 10 minutes, thankfully my own choreography is not demanding of my lungs, just as well!

Louise

That is excellent news. All the best on December 8.

How about posting a video on YouTube?

4 days to go, Lou! Are you getting excited yet?

I used to be extremely fit, or thought so until I was invited with some other runners to do some warm up exercises with Scottish Ballet. We were left floored by the exertion, while they were going on to a performance!

Actually that warm up proved quite good for me because I got a job as a dresser. When my dancer came off stage she ofted had to change rather quickly. I had to have her next costume ready to put on as she shed the one she was wearing. High pressure stuff, but what a treat to be able to be part of the ballet, and watch the dancers from the wings.

All the best on December 8.

Thanks Andrew, bit nervous!
So you were a dresser, you've done some interesting and varied work in your life

Good Luck Lou - I'll be thinking of you ( I work just round the corner!) but unfortunately I can't make it to the performance that evening - otherwise I would!

Best Wishes

It went well thanks! I had terrible nerves but I'm told it didn't show. Makes a huge difference having a dance professionally staged and the stage crew were lovely.
Anne was there! I really appreciated that, as were my family
