Thank you for your reply. I really appreciate the detailed responses, in relation to intacs. I would definitely like to keep up with your progress and see how it turns out.
Will you still have to wear you contacts even after the intacs settle in?
I also find that the double images/ghosting is the worst part especially whilst driving. I received a new pair of contacts yesterday but I am waiting to see how I settle in with them over the next few days.
Goodluck and I wish you all the best with the further improvement of your vision.

Re: My Intacs Experience
Alice,
I have found that the starbursts and halos have all but disappeared and have been able to return to night driving. However since the intacs in my right eye, I do find that in dimly lit/dark places when there is a bright point of light I get "sparklies" in the shape of the intac segments, this is more of an inconvenience than a nuisance and have learnt to ignore it.

Re: My Intacs Experience
To Alice 44 My eleven year old has just been told he has KC in one eye. His vision is very poor [about six inches] We have now been told that INTACS is an option before a graft. After reading your experiance i now feel so much more positive about this option. Thank you for sharing your experiance. Thought we were alone in the world when we found out but now feel so positive.

I have some eye drops that I have to use just now. What's the going rate? If you tell me, I'll invite my wife to pay me, too! Sounds like a really good idea.

The going rate is a pound per day but somehow he has managed to make seven pounds in the last three days ! Kids have an amazing way of pulling at the heart strings. I am now told the Intacs will cost me a nintendo wii and if a graft is on the cards a new saxophone would be cool ! He does' nt know the going rate for adults but he says it doubles every year. By the time he is seventeen he should just about have enough for a deposit on a nice little semi! And I will be working until I am ninety! Kind regards

Re: My Intacs Experience
The incentive my parents gave to me was if I wanted to continue playing rugby and doing motor sport I would have to get through the KC issues. Still had to fund the sport myself with part time jobs though!
Due to a back injury rugby is out of the question so my incentive to beat KC is to be able to get back into motor sport.

Re: My Intacs Experience
Hmmm, I go in for Intacs next month and (really) want rather than need a Nintendo Wii.
I wonder if I could bribe the other half?

Somebody complimented me on my driving yesterday - they left a note on my windscreen "Parking Fine" which was nice.
KC managed with softperm lens in left eye, Intacs (2/11/07) in right eye
