I think that it is only a Scot who can bring an entirely dispassionate eye to English Football. Let me just say this: it is a very good thing that the Nations have their own Leagues. If most Scottish clubs had to compete in the English League, I am afraid that they would sink, more or less without trace.

I know that there are one or two outstanding exceptions to this observation, but if your club is not doing to well in the English League, they should apply for a transfer to the SFA and then they will know previously undreamed of success.

Karl

I can't wait for us to play Derby too. Then our goal difference will be better than yours

Great win for the Gunners at Three Point Lane. The strikes by Cesc and Ade will live long in the memory. Talking of memories, was anyone actually born when Spurs last won the title? (clue - you have to be over the age of 46).

Matt,

Yes I was born before Spurs last won the league. I have been supporting them for about 40 years now, since I was 12. I do have to say though that even though we may not have won the league for a while :( our record in the FA cup is pretty impressive, 9 appearances, 8 wins and we were the first English club to win in Europe back in 1962/63. but I have no doubt that someone will point out the other side of the coin.
Still I think they're a good team, they've spent a few milion quid over the summer and once they get going there will be no stopping them. :P

BTW has anyone been watching the Women's World Cup? It's been quite an eye-opener. the men could learn a thing or two about not making a fuss over tackles :D :D

Whichever team you support I think this season is not going to be quite as predictable as the last few have been, here's to a good one.

Lesley.

Karl, I can remember well before Tottenham last won the league and I suspect they won't win it again within my lifetime-I have many years left I hope!

Lesley, I haven't seen any of the Womens World Cup. However whenever I see Kelly Smith, I wish she could play for us in the Premier Division. She is a graet player.

Goonerman.

...would there be a vacancy for Sperz in the Highland League?
