Small update from me

Only a few people in here know me as I only remember about this group ater appointments.....stupid really I should hang around more often.

Anyway, had a small lens check today, no further progression in my right eye which has been static now for 2 years. However, I am on the verge of losing these beautifully comfortable kerasofts for a gas permeable in my left eye which would be a shame, but probably a necessary step.

Asides from that I have had a good few months, I probably should confess to being a hyperchondriat and fearing I had moto neuron disease from searching what a flutter sound in the ear could be. Went to the doctors paranoid and she assured me that a muscle twitching in the ear, or anywhere in the body for that matter (even the tongue) would have to be accompanied by upper motor neuron damage and severe weakness and atrophy (wasting of muscles) before they even send you to a neuro to confirm diagnosis. so that wasa relief. It got me thinking though about info on KC on the net and there isnt enough if you dont know where to look. Wikipedias page sums it up really well, but not too many people know how resourceful wikipedia can be and even then...it is authors opinins.

anyway hope everyone is well, ill hang about and reply to posts more often! How are the rest of you guys

Hiya John, thats good news about your eye being stable for 2 years!
I was very worried about using rgp lenses and after 3 weeks of having them I can honestly say I love them!

Good to hear about the stability and the concern about the rgps is only natural of course.
I am glad muscle twitching doesn't mean motor-neuron disease too; I out mine down to too much coffee and haribos!

Hi everyone,
I have been researching the wonderful subject of sunglasses since that big orange ball has been coming out in the sky all the time. I wouldn't mind but it stays there until well after 9pm up here
I have now found a good pair of suinglasses but I also stumbled upon an advert for anglers glasses on the net. They are advertised as "fully polarised" which does not give much of a clue. If the category of polarisation was stated it would help. However, the adverts point out that the glasses cut out the glare from the water and allow you to see the fish. I am guessing therefore that they cut most of the light. Another pair were advertised as Polaroid not polarised. The advert stressed that these were 2 different things but did not explain the functional differences.
Are there any anglers who use these kind of glasses and how good are they?

From my physics days, a polarised lens only allows light through in one plane only and at school we used polarised lenses from an old pair sunglasses.

Need to be careful that the world 'fully' is not used to hike the price.

"Polaroid" is simply the trademark of the major company providing polarised sunglasses.

I would think of Polaroid as producing the "Gold Standard" polarised sunglasses, but maybe I'm out-of-date.

I need to find some good sunglasses, I am not affected by the sun much but have noticed that if its windy and anything blows into my eyes while wearing lenses it hurts! So am thinking that sunglasses would stop this. At the moment I am wearing my son's Chelsea FC shades for driving I always have the windows down while driving and had grit in my eye last week

Unusual to see that big orange ball in the sky eh!

Here in Queensland we have that all year round, not much in the way of seasons so its essential to have a really good pair of sunnies. The best that I have found so far are Maui Jim Sport or Rayban, both polarised.

I have pretty extreme photophobia, and I have a pair of both Maui Jim and Rayban and they are both awesome sunnies.

QLD just won the state of origin , so go the Maroons! Any blues out there will know what I am going on about
