Elizabeth, i am with you i never watch doctor who, my kids do.
I think it goes back to being made to watch it when i was little because my brother used to watch ,it always really scared me!!!!
and if i complained big brother would find a form of touture to shut me up
I don't think i will be watching the eurovision song contest either.
Are you going to watch it and who do you want to win?
Anne

I never watch either but last night I thought I would give the Eurovision Song Contest a try.
Never again. What a stitch up
.
It has always been farcical but from now on (at least for the foreseeable future), it is going to be the Balkans versus the Baltic states.
I guess we now need two competitions, one for eastern europe and the other for western europe.

Andrew,
They would NEVER say "La Norvège, nil points"... partially because Norway improved a lot since those days
but mainly because they never announced the points that they were failing to award
Michael,
Your suggestion of a split contest is gaining some high level support. The earliest it can come in would be 2009, but I would expect a rule change before 2010 to make things fairer for those in Western Europe (and the Big Four: Germany, France, Spain and the UK - who pay for most of the contest!). It's our ball, after all!

I know, but they did announce at the end the final points accumulated by the teams; at least in the days when there were only seven or eight counties involved.
I had been expecting he hear Le Royaume-Uni, nil points or Le Royaume-Uni, points de zéro at this year's extravaganza, but we didn't even manage that distinction!
Oh well!
