I'm Back!

Postby Matthew_ » Wed 02 May 2007 1:07 pm

I've been away for various reasons (all very boring) but now I am back. Hope to have more stimulating conversations with you all (no I'm not being sarcastic!).

No, not the case. Probably need you more than ever! Hope I can give something back too.

Wasn't manouvres either. Just stuff really. Family illnesses, seemed to have a rash of them (so to speak). But all seems OK now with variuos family members recovering well. Hardly been at work or home over the last few months! Just looking at in-box at work, giving it a hard staring to.

Matthew

Whatever kept you away, it is good to welcome you back. I have just come in from walking around town, with the sun shining from a clear blue sky, the river shimmering in the heat and the hills and mountains beyond looking slightly purple through the shimmer.

Helensburgh looks warm from here.

I hope that you are managing to keep the hayfever at bay!

There is a prat in the river here riding one of those jet ski machines. the problem with noticing things like this is that I might just sit and watch him for the next half hour instead of doing the work that I came back to do! Who knows, he might just fall in. At least he seems to be wearing a life jacket.

Andrew,

Hope resist the urge to send out the remote controlled sub and torpedo the idiot.

Oh and such strong language from you, think I might have to sensor your post

:D

I was rather hoping that Matthew might dispatch a corvette to do the job for me!

Surely a fuel guzzling American car would sink? :?

Somebody complimented me on my driving yesterday - they left a note on my windscreen "Parking Fine" which was nice.

I was thinking more of the fast moving torpedo small ships that were such a boon to the war effort in WW2, but it is a pretty straight line from the Gaer Loch to here, so maybe one of those lumbering American cars would do the trick.

Corvettes are not really my field, although I like the idea of driving one, a singularly intense form of warfare I should think. Howabout an attack swimmer to lay a charge on the thing? Have to be fast swimmer though! :?
Seriously Jet-Skis are a problem when the guy driving is not the least bit qualified or exerienced to do so. They cause havoc with other users of the water. That's not to say this is the case for serious Jet Skiers who use the craft properly and with due regard. Problem is the sensible ones seem outnumbered at the moment.
But you are right about the weather. It is beautiful here. The Loch is like a mirror and the mountains are truly serene bathing in the sunlight. I have some good photos that I will post this evening, just to back up what Andrew has been saying and to make everyone else jealous!
