intacs
Hi Stokie
In answer to your question , No you cant feel them and I have found this to be a much better option than the graft I had in the other eye.
In fact with glasses I can now see down to the second bottom line on the eye chart.
Hope this helps
Mark

Hi Stokie
This link, http://www.allaboutvision.com/conditions/inserts.htm may help you understand what INTACS are and what they do.
Like Mark I have also had this done. The only way that I can tell that they are in place in my right eye is by the fact that I can now get a VA of 6/5 aided, prior to the operation it was 6/15.
As Mark has pointed out, not every KC patient is suitable for INTACS as much depends on the state of the cornea, however it is a way forward in the treatment of KC and all being well after the NICE consultation it will become more freely available on the NHS
