I have no difficulty understanding a desire on the part of optometrists in the public or the private sector to start with the less expensive, and more readily available, options and then working up to the more expensive and less readily available lenses.

What I find hard to understand is why my very positive experience in two Scottish cities is not the common experience of people with KC in all parts of the United Kingdom.

It is about money. I tried EVERY RGP option before they would try me with scleral lenses because of the cost.
I dug my heels in about wearing piggyback lenses as in i didnt want them and hung on for scleral lenses which, touch wood, are now my all seeing eyes.

Helen, well done, but it is a pity about the piggy backs, they may have suited you just fine. I certailny know of others who have found them absolutely wonderful.

Hi Pat

Good to hear that you have had some positive news re the lens wear, albeit that you had to push Moorfields to get to this point.

Fingers crossed all will continue to improve for you.

Best wishes

Susan
don't let the people that mean nothing to you get you down, because in the end they are worth nothing to you, they are just your obstacles in life to trip you up!
