It's good to know what I can expect post op after INTACS, mine's scheduled for 08 Feb at St Paul's Liverpool. There's little information around as to patient experiences post op.

Even if I only get to read the first line unaided in my right eye it will be an improvement.

I'll post my diary after the 8th Feb

Now just to battle with my former employer, but that's a different story.

Check up Result

Postby Ehsan » Tue 30 Jan 2007 11:40 am

Hi All;

Ehsan's check up went well yesterday evening. The surgeon had placed a large contact to protect the intac that covered the white of his eye which was removed. However he did not have a sight test. That will be done next week Monday.

The Doc did confirm that eventually Ehsan will be able to use his intac eye as normal with regards to rubbing it and contact sport etc but yeh of course rubbing is bad regardless.

Ehsan talked of seeing a ring of light around any object with some sort of light to it eg headlights, light bulb etc. The Doc said that this was expected and will eventually go away in approx. 4 weeks.

We've been told that if there are to be any major sight improvements they shall take place in the first month so we're keeping our fingers crossed.

Kind Regards;
Ahfia...x

Ahfia

Thank you for bringing us up to date with this. Give Ehsan our very best wishes and tell him that we all hope he will see a great improvement in his sight.

That is excellent news.

Please keep us updated as we are very lacking in information regarding peoples experience if intacs compared to other treatment options.
