Hi all.
I am new to the forum and thought I would introduce myself. I am 29 and was diagnosed with KC at 14. My KC is being corrected by piggy backing. I live in sheffield and would love to meet or at least chat to other KC sufferers.
I guess I'm in the right place for that last line.
Thanks for reading
P.S. I have just realised I may have put this thread in the wrong section. Sorry to the moderators in advance.

Hello Matthew and welcome to the forum. You'll certainly find lots of people to chat to about KC here. And we're not just a web-based group. If you'd like to join our postal mailing list to get booklets/DVDs of the conferences we hold, do get in touch by PM or e-mail anne@keratoconus-group.org.uk with your postal address.
Does the piggy backing give you good comfort and vision?

Piggybacking is great so far. The comfort is great, I can now walk past a dusty building site without covering my eyes. The glare from the sun doesn't cause quite so many problems too. The only downsides so far are even itchier eyes once I've removed the lenses and the stickiness after long use. It is great seeing peoples reaction's when I tell them I wear four lenses.

Hi Mathew - Welcome on board!
if you've had a plonk around the forum you may have seen from other posts that I'm just trying to get used to RGP's at the moment - did you ever wear those - and if so how did you get on with them - or have you gone straight on to piggy backing? I am finding RGP's not too comfortable at the moment but I know I've got to give it time.

Hi Pat.
I used RGP's for 14 years and they were great regarding vision but could be quite painful at times. The most frequent problems I came across with RGP's were slipping of the lenses, dust or grit getting under them and sun glare. All in all they were very good but due to corneal scarring and hydrops they soon became more of a problem than a help. I was due to have a graft in 2006 but having had some success with the piggybacking that has been delayed.
Hope this helps Pat, if you have anymore queries I will be glad to help.
P.S. it feels good to finally find a group who know what I'm going on about. Oh the joys of KC.
