blue-tooth is just a way of connecting things without the wires.
so when u see people walking round supermarkets with things in their ears looking like prats, thinking they r the bees knees, thats their blue tooth headsets.
u can also use it to send picture messages (if u can use ur camera) ringtones, contacts etc, and when u get clever at using it, u can get up to mischief by sending people little messages, and they dont know its from.

You can use "bluetooth" for a wireless headset. And you can use it to transfer data from your phone to your computer and vice versa. Here is what the Erikson Mobile Phone people (who invented "bluetooth" technology) say about the name they gave their clever gizmo.
King Harald Bluetooth lived in Denmark between 910 to 940 AD, and was the son of Gorm. Contrary to popular belief, Bluetooth had nothing to do with a blue tooth.
It means dark complexion: he had very dark hair, which was unusual for Vikings. Not only did Harald not fit the classic image physically, he was a rather unusual Viking.
The good King Harald brought Christianity to Scandinavia and also "united" Denmark and Norway.
Much of Harald’s history was learnt from two runic stones erected to his memory in the town of Jelling in Denmark. The first concept of the technology that became Bluetooth was created in Lund in Sweden 1994, and Ericsson has now chosen to erect a modern runic stone to the memory of Harald Bluetooth.
This was unveiled by Ericsson CEO Sven Christer Nilsson during his recent visit to the Ericsson R&D facilities in Lund. The modern runic stone bears the following inscription (in runic language translated from Swedish): Ericsson Mobile Communications AB erected this stone to the memory of Harald Bluetooth who gave his name to a new wireless technology for mobile communication.
Ericsson’s R&D facility at Lund is undoubtedly a centre of creative excellence. Bluetooth’s genesis there follows many other new ideas, including the Ericsson mobile phone. In fact, the first portable NMT and GSM phones on the market were developed there. It seems that Ericsson is not only making history, but celebrating it, too.

But Lou; imagine. You can take photographs with your phone, downloat them to your pc, upload them to the www and then link them to the KC forum.
Just think, you are walking through the car park at Waitrose when you see something particularly interesting. You raise your phone, giving the appearance of being about to call a friend and SNAP you have the picture in your phone's memory card.
Later that day, back at home, you boot up your computer and via your King Harald connection you download the image into your hard drive. Now you can crop all extraneous detail from the image and then upload it to the web. It is just a simple matter to link to the image and you can adorn your postings with photos taken that same day.
Meantime we can all enjoy pictures of quirky bumper stickers or cloud formations that you have spotted as you make your way through the routines of an ordinary day.

I have a motorola V phone I also have a bluetooth thingy which I can't keep in my ear even with the bit that fits over the ear
so I don't bother with it. I couldn't figure out how to work it either even though my son very patiently tried to explain it and set it up for me
and anyway when we were clearing the kitchen cupboards prior to refurbishment we found a charger, didn't know what it was from so it threw it out, guess what it was for my bluetooth
so now I can't use it anyway cos I can't recharge it.
