I didn't know you were thinking of migrating West to the United States. If you went, to which part would you go? I love the Mid West, and in particular, Chicago. I love the state of Illinois, but in truth there is no part of the United States that I dislike (except New York City).
All the best with graft number 2.
Resolutions? I'd like to shed two or three stone. Maybe four. Five would be too much.

Yeh we have been thinking about it for a few years now. 2 years back I even went there for Interviews got the offers, and then backed out last minute as we have our first child Dylan.
To be honest, the more I see whats happening in the UK the more I kinda make my mind up...but theres other things to consider like family etc.....
Interms of area, it will either be San Francisco area and close vicinty; or close to New York. Washington was another one on the radar....but well see.....its a major step in terms of family and leaving alot behind.....more so now than before when I didnt have a child.
With great kids comes great responsibility!

I know about the children and responsibility thing.
I did spend two Semesters at UC Santa Barbara in the 70's. I loved it!
All the best. I know that the decision will not be easy, and there will be reasons to think that either way you are making the wrong choice. Whatever; you just have to make the decision and then commit completely to it.
Looks like 2007 is going to be an important year for you.
In the States, how would your KC play in terms of health insurance: would it be excluded as a pre-existent condition?

Never botherd with resolutions and probably will not this year either!
As far as the US goes, did loads of work travelling to and fro and pretty much hated the US on a business level so no way I would be happy living and working there. Visiting for a holiday would be OK.
Canada is a different matter, would be quite happy going to live and work there and would be quite happy in Australia too. Canadians and Australians are their own people.
For me much of the the American and UK lifestyle is too similar. Just the accents that differ. Only good thing about the US was being European the police would swear at me when I got caught for speeding and politly asked me not to get caught in their county again!
UK police are happy to follow someone doing 90 plus, in the US, it worries them
