Hey all! Glad that things have settled down again. I was here reading some of it but for once was very quiet! A week of nights and aikido can do that to me!!

I was one of the two people banned from this website, the other person banned being Sajeev, I agree with the ban imposed on Sajeev due to his insulting comments to me ,and unjustified and homophobic remarks to Jayuk on the thread 911. This obviously was an attempt to “flameâ€Â

I dont want to go over old ground; but I think you should still review or post on this forum if its KC related. At the end of the day; this is what the board is for...and the Chit Chat section is merely an add-on.

In any forum(s) its always difficult to post such threads as the one that caused this whole episode.

In the meantime, if you have got help or further inforamtion on KC from this, than I think you should review and stay....

Im not going to go into the whole Banning issue, as its none of my business and doesnt concern me. What I will say, is that the Committee have a responsibility to ensure the board adheres to certain principles and thus I think the action taken was at there discreton.

I dont think this is the place or forum to discuss such topics in all honesty; and Id have to agree in that your post was the first one that kinda tested the waters.........

Lets just put it behind, and continue.....

Im in no way taking sides, as I often say I never post on forums to be liked, but this forum has a reason for its existence...and its done more good than harm....lets keep it that way....and forget this whole thing and just get on with helping each other.

I hope this post does not Spiral, into replies and deletion, but feel free to PM me......you sound like a very head strong guy, and have a certain belief, thats fine.....but maybe we should let this one slow down by the way side....thats what I did.....

Also you should note that the clever techy admin has set this thread up so that any posts made do not put it at the top as normally occurs on the site, presumably so that the remainder of the community remains in ignorance.

To get round that I started a new thread headed "Bringing the forum into disrepute part 2" and linked it to this thread. I note that Gareth B has added a post to that and is either dumb or playing dumb!

I agree that this website has done alot of good
and I dont wish to harm it. I've requested that my membership be removed as I am clearly not part of the "privileged" KC community.

I didnt come here to be liked, I came for help and support and also to try to offer some in return for a condition which imo receives poor medical treatment and research obviously due to a lack of financial support. What sort of KC medical care would we receive if some of those billions of taxpayers monies put in to funding the state sponsored war on terror went into KC medical care?

Self help KC groups have the potential to improve this situation providing they do not get infiltrated by people who do not put the interests of KC patients first and such people become controlers of these self help groups.

Since becoming diagnosed with KC 23 years ago it is the only positive development I have seen for KC patients.

Ever heard of the saying "what comes round goes round" Jayuk. If I come across information that helps other KC patients do you really expect me to post it here after the treatment that has been dealt to me by the committee?

As you are aware, thankfully this is not the only KC helpsite on the net!

I hope that lessons have been learnt by the committee.

Banning and censoring information people offer really does concern me, but obviously not you, maybe you find it entertaining seeing people dealt with like this?, I respect that is your choice though!

I just wanted to say hello and say something here. I am not writing this just because i am now on the committee but because i feel for where you now are.

I did read the posts before on this topic and i can fully see and respect everyone concerned. I think it is sad that you were banned and that you now want to leave the forum. Everyone is welcome here and i am hoping that you do decide to stay.

The main issue that i can see is not the opinions you posted as we are all free to post what we feel and express anything we wish. The problem came when posts here turned abusive and hurt friends here and i am not saying that this only concerned you. It didn't really matter what the post was orginally about. The rules do state that it shouldn't be politically based but it was ok until members were posting and saying that they were hurt by the posts. This is a time for any committee of a forum to step in and try to sort out the problem.

Steven you are allowed to express your opinions and views, just that we need to be considerate to others who post and read here. As you stated there are other KC sites and there are also political ones where maybe your orginal post would have been welcomed and answered fully? What you wrote deserved attention am just not sure that a KC site was the place to post it?

I would love to read and reply to any posts of yours on KC and am happy to be here for anyone. I hate arguing and seeing people getting hurt so am hoping that we can all step back from this and see that it has all gone on long enough now but that we can move on from this.

The committee did not want to ban you and it was discussed at great length and is being reviewed. It wasn't decided on the spur of the moment just because it was you or because of what you have posted. There have been a few posts in the past whish turned argumentative but they settled down really fast and everyone dealt with it well. Sadly as hard as everyone has tried with this you are still getting hurt when all friends want to do here is help and support one another.

Please don't walk away thinking that friends here don't care because that is far from the truth. We all post because we do want to help and support each other and we do want to listen anytime. Just please understand that as a committee we have to make sure that members here are treated with respect and equality and it was felt that friends getting hurt was really unfair. It was not taken as a personal need to criticise you and hurt you in any way.

Everyone is more than welcome to email me anytime. I am not taking sides and though i am now a committee member i am not going to let this change how i feel. We are all equal and deserve to be heard.

Steven please take this with the heartfelt honesty i intended as i am genuine and want everyone here to feel safe and welcome anytime with anything they feel they can share.

We're not hiding anything. Indeed, we are not hiding the personal emails that you have received and posted online, despite this being a serious breech of netiqutte. Accusing moderators (or anyone here for that matter) of being dumb or acting dumb doesn't help your cause, either.

Please try to understand that you are not being victimised in any way, and let's let this topic lie so that we can get back to the serious job of running the forum for the folks who need it.

i must say i was disgusted to read some of the posts and quite shocked and concerned i have used the forum for a long time like others.

the good thing about the forum is that we are free to express our feelings but at the same time we all support each other and there can be no place for such behaviour from certain users.

lets hope this is the end of it all and we get back to supporting each other and using the forum for its great purpose and use.

And I recognize how hard it is for Gareth and John to "police" the forum.

By the way, the committee is not "unrepresentative". On the contrary, they are the committee for two reasons:

1 we support them because of what they represent

2 we support them as they represent us and our particular needs.

I may say that I have, on occasion, posted the odd pm to John asking whether a thread may have been established by a spammer. I have never found his responses anuthing but couretous. neither do I see anything bt courtesy in the string of pm's that are published above.
