Oh Michael you just had to bring that up didn't you
I actually watched the match and Spurs were awful, things had looked so good last week against Chelsea.
Back to Torchwood, I don't know about a cock-up with the script but I really couldn't make head or tail of the storyline. The problem is, I think, that we don't really know anything about the characters apart from the fact that Gwen was a policewoman and Captain Jack is immortal and obviously was before the daleks got him. Michael you'll have to watch it to know what I mean. We haven't been given much, if any, information about the other three characters and therefore they seem to be surplus to requirements. It looks like turning into the Captain Jack and Gwen show.
Still I'll keep watching I maybe proved wrong.
Lesley.

Well, I've now seen the most recent Torchwood.
Good job I'm easy to please!
I think that part of the trouble is thw writing. They just don't know their audience. They're adding bad language and sex because they can. Not because it makes the story any better.
As for last night's fairy-tale, it was written by PJ Hammond... who wrote many stories for "Sapphire and Steel" amongst others. A real SF writer if you like. I thought that the effects were excellent, especially the sound effects, but this one was let down somewhat by not having enough substance. The lack of material gave the actors little to do, and only Gwen really seemed to act in this one. Oh, and the little girl's mum at the end.
I liked Jack's girlfriend though. Nice touch.
As Michael said though. I'm easily pleased, so I'll continue watching. But I'm waiting for the Christmas Day proper-WHO special, even if it does have the obnoxious Catherine Tate instead of Billie or Freema! Still, the only other story to have the Doctor sans assistant (The Deadly Assassin) turned out to be a classic, so Who knows...?
