Hi Anne, don't worry, you didn't ask an awkward question; I just wanted to add the legal footnote!

If memory serves, and drugs supplied for clinical trial purposes are done so by either the manufacturer or a contract company that is coordinating the trials. Regardless of drug use all medicines shipped must be accounted for, more so in clinical trials, anything not used must be returned.

The quantities necessary are calculated up front and it is hard to get more.

Let us know how you get on Anne.

The price I've been quoted for the same is nearer to £200, so I think you've got a bargain!! Each vial is 0.4 ml, hence total amount is 32x0.4= 12.8ml which makes it over £12,000 per litre!! This surely must be some sort of record.Use it sparingly!

Ali,

Thats scary, I don't think i will be able to use it for long there is no way i can afford it.
BOOTS said i will need to use two vails a day.[one for the morning and one at night] So 32 will only last me 2 weeks!!!!!
If i can reseal them after use do you think i could use the same vail morning and night.

Anne,

That is exactly what I do with the Systane in the single 0.8ml amoules and get a days use out of them.

If you have the option, sticking an open ampoule in the fridge might help it keep longer.

Systane works out at about £260 per litre.

I used to work with a protein to see if it could be deliverd to the lungs using an inhaler and that purified protein was £2000 per g (£2M KG) which meant the project was well over budget in its first year.

I'd have thought that would be OK, be careful not to touch the tip of the vial on your eye, and after use store the open vial upright somewhere where it would not be likely to get contaminated.
