Top Gear

Postby Sweet » Thu 21 Sep 2006 12:19 pm

I just wanted to wish Richard Hammond the Top gear presenter the best and hope he makes a full recovery. He was attempting to break the 300.3mph land speed record and crashed. News say he is in ICU but stable.

I love watching Top gear even though i am a very pink girl!! LOL!! Am just obsessed with speed hehe and obviously any super jet speed car i have would be pink and purple!! Get well soon!

I think we all feel the same.

You would like the jet car at Sanat Pod, it has flashes of pink down the side and is absolutly deafening.

The news has raised all sort of questions regarding safety. Just to get into one of these cars you need to sart in the lower levels just to show you know what to do and how to do it safely, even when things go wrong.

Those of us involved in high speed/risk activities are aquetly aware of the hazards which is why we survive to tell the tale.

I hope he is OK! I really like him and Top Gear, He is the far less obnoxious balance to Jeremy Clarkson. Another dog lover! Hope he recovers OK.
On the subject of pink, they have recently started adding pink flashes to our diving equipment because it is easy to see underwater. You can imagine how well this has gone down in the Royal Navy Mine Clearance Diving Branch!

LMAO!!! Oh that is way too funny! The whole world though has been taken over by a pink revelation from interior design to cleaning products! it's just a whole way of living to me but i can understand that navy guys would disagree!!

I read tonight that Richard Hammond wasn't the first choice for the drive, and he only took over from James May 9 days ago.

Wonder why James pulled out and Richard took over? James must be feeling terrible.

I also hope Richard gets back on his feet soon.

I think there is some friendly rivalry between Captain Slow and the Hampster.

The news sounds better today.

Somehow it is always more shocking when somebody is injured while making a television programme, as if our hunger for entertainment had contributed to the disaster.

Yes everything looks better today as he is now in HDU. Hoping it continues and he leaves soon. You would think that crashing at that speed there would be no hope of survival.

I was surprised to see the rest of the car intact. Usually it is just the safety cell left.

It is because these acrs are so strong and the safety requirments/standards are so high that I felt safe racing. However to be safe you need to be very aware of the risks involved.

You never see a complacent racing driver. All of those ones are too injured to ever race again or dead
