Louise, I thought Newcastle were doing a lot better with Roeder... or not? He seemed to turn the results around when he first came I thought.
The new stadium is fantastic with all facilities that anyone could wish for. Loads of loos for both him AND her! catering facilities all over the place and plasma tv's wherever you turn your head. On the minus side, a moumtain of steps to deal with. My seat is much further away from the centre and much further back than I thought it would be.
Whilst my KC isn't nearly as bad as many members of the forum, I am having considerable difficulty seeing from my new seat. I think I will write to Arsenal to see if there is any way they can move me to a more suitable seat, if not this year then for next season. If they can't, I will not renew my season ticket next year.
At least I will have had a season at the new stadium.
Even with all the wonderful facilities etc, I miss dear old cramped Highbury. I have some great memories of some brilliant times there.
New Season - Same Old Tottenham!

Michael,
Roeder did a fantastic job last season, he seems a nice genuine guy. It's just a shame he doesn't have full control of the team - I don't for one second think Roeder had any say in the James Milner farce on transfer deadline day.
The simple fact is we knew over 18months ago that by this summer we'd be without Shearer, then in June Owen did his knee in so he'll be out for the season. For whatever reason Roeder just doesn't like Luque (and he's yet to perform for us) so that left us with Ameobi who has a long standing hip injury and a poor goals to games ratio. Aside from signing Damien Duff our transfer dealings have been shocking. A huge vote of no confidence from most fans.
I know what you mean, I don't know if you are familiar with St. James' Park but I sit right at the back of the huge stand behind the goal. It's like watching subuteo to me
I bet, Highbury seemed steeped in tradition from an outsiders view. I wonder if you'll still sing that "Northbank Highbury" (?) song?

I sat in the west stand and occasionally when the north bank were singinging their song we would chip in with being west stand Highbury.
Away fans used to call it Highbury library! I guess it was a bit subdued at times but we were so enthralled with the quality of the football that shouting didn't seem to be necessary

LOL! I can see why. I still think that on their day Arsenal play the best football in the league. Chelsea may be champions, but they aren't anything special to watch.
Whilst I never had the privalege of watching Keegan's team play at St James' I understand that the atmosphere is very poor now in comparison, but I think much is to do with the expansion of the stadium. A lot of the sound escapes. I think in terms of atmosphere it's best where I sit (next to the away fans) but the view isn't wonderful

Michael,
Ha, yes I suppose there is always someone worse off than yourself. In my case it's always been S*nderland, but even they managed to win at the weekend! And the Smoggies (Boro) draw against your team has been put down to a wonder performance by Jonathan Woodgate by the local media, and snide remarks about us turning down the chance to re-sign him.
I haven't been to Old Trafford, but I was at Cardiff when we played Maan Utd in the FA Cup Semi final. The only noise that lot managed to make was very occasional taunts at Shearer. 60,000 Muppets at Old Trafford apparently.
Hmmm Poor old Spurs eh?

Yup, on my way shortly.
Staying at a Travelodge for the grand sum of £26 for a room for the 3 of us
.
The open day is tomorrow and we thought we would stay overnight rather than belt down the M1. As my son is a burger nut we thought we would take him to the Hard Rock Cafe for supper, if it's still there. We did this with our daughter 2 years ago; damn noisy though!
