Putting football aside for a moment, I find tennis really hard to watch. It is impossible to see the ball without getting close up.

With football I find it is ok to sit a little distance away and have a reasonable view although I will always get closer for a game I really want to watch. e.g Arsenal, England and Tottenham when they are losing (which means most of the time over many seasons but less so last season

Sandi as we both seem to be spending a hell of a lot of time over this thread does it mean that you don't have a life either :?:

Anne seems to have some sort of a life other than Tottenham because she has been known to break off from her vacuuming to post on the forum

To be honest it is only that most the F1 cars are different colours I can see the action without sitting too close.

Pit action hard to see when the mechanics are the same colour as the car, the blob just gets a tad bigger!

Silverstone Sunday was good, bright sun, head under the bonnet of a race car full of bling. Never faced the sun, but my face is the bit that looks like a beetroot!

Still the blind guy still managed to keep the car going.

Hi Gareth,

I'm not into F1 , but it sounds very tempting if I don't have to sit on top of the tv to watch it.

My hubby and son like the one where there are different coutries and the cars are all the same make (except each one is painted with the flag or colour of the country) and they race every couple of weeks or so (I know, I'm useless at this, I can't remember what it is called).
I have been known to watch that and that was exciting.

Hi Michael,

I am on holiday at the moment......woohooooo , so I have some spare time (inbetween the vacuuming, ironing, washing up etc etc.... )

I love watching Soccer Saturday on Sky and have terrible trouble seeing the results, the ones that are shown on the top right hand side of the screen and change every few minutes. Manys the time I have shouted in celebration thinking either Spurs had scored or that your team (I can't bring myself to type it, sorry) or West Ham were losing.....only to realise that either the result hadn't change or the opposite had happened.

Yes, I also enjoy Soccer Saturday. It really is quite exciting watching the scores come in and listening to Frank Maclintock wearing his heart on his sleeve.

Last season I could see the scores reasonably well but now like you it has become a struggle and I have to move closer to see.

I have a season ticket for you know who but this may be my last season. I need to see if there is any way they would give me preferential treatment if I was in a position to go again in a year or two.

I hope you enjoy your holiday and weren't planning to fly out yesterday. I am flying to Dublin in a fortnight and hope things have settled down by then.

I am not actually going 'on holiday' anywhere, I am on my 6 weeks summer holidays, I work in a school so get the 6 weeks off as well.

The bias that some of the panel on Soccer Saturday show makes me laugh at times.....especially your Mr Maclintock, and also Matt Le Tiss, he is so anti Spurs......the other thing that amazes me is that whenever we are one of the featured games for the panel to watch we ALWAYS get either an ex-gooner or Matt Le Tiss.......WHY!!!

Do you think you will be able to get a season ticket if you leave it a few years? I had heard there was a waiting list, is that still the case with the new stadium?

I often hear people say so and so is anti this or that and more often than not, as a neutral, I haven't noticed this so called bias. Sometimes I think we can imagine a bias against our team when it really isn't there. Having said that I do live alittle bit in a world of my own so perhaps I just totally miss it .

I am pretty sure there is a waiting list but I would hope Arsenal would have some concession for somebody who is wants to temporarily give up a season ticket due to health reasons etc. I guesss I could find somebody who might want the ticket until I want it back although this would be against the terms and conditions of having the season ticket.

Enjoy the rest of your break. We will no doubt be in touch very shortly!

Hi,

Just to let Michael know he has another Spurs supporter to beware of!

I've followed Tottenham for 40 years but I don't get to the matches these days although I am a member of the supporters club.

Iremember the likes of Jimmy Greaves, Martin Peters, Martin Chivers, Pat Jennings and Cyril, nice one, Knowles to name a few. Wonderful players.

This season looks promising if the pre seaon friendlies are anything to go by and I'm really looking forward to Europe. I'm pretty sure we will finish above the Gunners this year, last season was a sickener and I was glad Barcelona won.

Lesley.

Hi Lesley,

Great to hear from another Spurs fan!!! :D Michael, why don't you just give in and join us!

I have only followed Spurs for about 25 years, not as long as you!! I was drawn to the team of the early 80's, as their style of football was so impressive.

I was brought up as a QPR fan, as I come from West London and all my family, on both sides supported Rangers. My granddad was a steward at Loftus Road and would take me to games, I started going when I was 5, so I grew up with pics of Stan Bowles on my wall!

My hubby started going to WHL when he was 7, so has supported Spurs for 35 years, and he holds my son captive with his tales of european nights at the Lane and queueing at 5 am in the morning at the Lane for FA cup tickets (It always reminds me of one of my fav films, The Glory Glory Days, about the girls in the 60's who try to get into the ground to get their tickets early).

I went to the Real Sociedad game on Saturday and we looked really impressive. It was great to see Dawson score, and of course Defoe. Managed to get tickets this morning for the Fulham game. I agree, I think we will finish above the gooners.

I can't wait for Saturday to come.......the game is on Sky, so at least we can see the action, and not get biased reports against us from the panel! on Soccer Saturday.

COYS!!!

Sandi
