I managed to get an infection in my ear and my doc gave me some antibiotics and ear drops. Has anyone else noticed how similar ear drop bottles are to eye drop bottles?
Well, I have, and yes, the accident that was waiting to happen did not have to wait long.
A neat little squirt of otosporin straight into my graft eye. Fortunately I was able to flush out with saline but could have been worse

I am reminded of the stories of the innocent and short-sighted grannies who used to go and visit their dear grandsons and that nice young man he shared a flat with.... and somehow found themsleves brushing their teeth in KY jelly.
Hope the ear is better soon.
Can you wrap some bright colour tape round the ear drops bottle to distinguish it?

OK, perhaps I am too sensible or it is because I work in a laboratory and before that worked in dangerous places where a simple mistake would lead to death!
My lens solutions have differnet colourd tops which is why I like the Boston range. Scarlet for cleaning, white for conditioning and the saline is a big top anyway.
Any other solutions which look similar have a blob of paint on the lid and bottle side to make them stand out. Plus everything is organised in my bathroom a set way to help reduce accidents further.

Gareth,
I'm with the organising the bathroom idea... but it all fell down when I was staying with friends. It was only then that I discovered that FML eye drops and Miraflow cleaner came in similar sized/shaped bottles... both coloured pink.
The inevitable happened, naturally. It hurt too. Lots.
My advice: if you think it MIGHT happen, it will. Do all you can to mitigate it.
